Summary/Objective
Electric Motor Mechanic is responsible for the safe repair of various kinds of electrical/mechanical equipment including diagnostic trouble shooting, disassembly, measurement, data collection, failure analysis, repair, re-assembly and testing. Must be able to complete trouble shoot, evaluate and repair AC and/or DC motors, generators, servos, pumps, blowers, gearboxes, housings, etc.
Use testing and measuring equipment such as high potential meters, multi meters, AC and DC voltage test panels, growler, Bar to Bar tester, micrometers, calipers, feeler gauges, bearing bore gauges. Ability to supervise department relations and build team effort while promoting a strong company image with customers and vendors.
Essential Skills & Functions
- Review and execute the work on all repair quotes for repairs and manufacturing.
- Determine operation or run condition, including the use of test equipment as dictated by the specific equipment and situation.
- Review Records testing and trouble shooting information on applicable forms.
- Maintain identification of each component part, labeling and/or photographing as necessary.
- Determine and Document the cause of failure.
- Direct Dismantle of equipment for applicable repairs or clean up.
- Clean, repair and/or replace parts from other work groups that performed re-assembly and final testing per Customer, EASA and/or OEM.
- Document final testing on applicable forms.
- Read and Produce blueprint drawings and illustrations.
- Working knowledge of mechanical repair and fabrication on pumps, gearboxes and motors.
- Knowledgeable in welding and fabrication.
- Compile and review all repair data prior to completing and closing jobs.
Physical Demands
- Frequently lift up to 50 pounds and adjust body position to climb, bend, stoop, squat, crawl, kneel, walk, turn, pivot, push, pull, reach overhead and stand for 8 or more hours a day.
- Must display excellent time management skills, be able to work with little or no supervision and communicate regularly.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures indoor/outdoor, depending upon season.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to hear well, naturally or corrected.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, typically 7:00a.m. – 4:00p.m. However, Evenings, Overtime, Saturday and Sunday may be required to meet business demand.
Work Environment
Working environment may include indoor/outdoor sites and will require constant vigilance and care. Frequency in exposure to dust, protective finishes, mechanical parts, electricity, noise and vibration.
Travel
May be required with the use of a company vehicle.
Requirements, Education and Experience
- Must show eligibility to work in U.S.A
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Must be able to effectively communicate with customers and staff.
- Minimum of 5+ years relevant work experience in an industrial setting.
- Minimum of 5+ years experience in electrical/mechanical repair or servicing or completion of accredited EASA training program.
- Requires diagnostic trouble-shooting, disassembly, measurement, data collections, failure analysis, repair, re-assembly, testing and safety abilities at a career skilled tradesman level.
